LEXUS Announces Significant Price Revision In Its Flagship Model

LEXUS LS 460L Buyers Enjoy Better Value Following Reduction in Excise Duty

Kuala Lumpur, 24 January 2007 – LEXUS LS 460L buyers will enjoy a price reduction of over RM60,000 off the original price following the government’s recent announcement of lower excise duties for passenger vehicles with engine capacities exceeding 3000cc, as well as a reduction in road tax. The price adjustment took effect 1 January 2007 and will be extended to new LEXUS customers, as well as those who have placed bookings thus far.

In the recent announcement made by the government, vehicles with 3000cc engines and above will attract an excise duty of 105 per cent. The previous rate for vehicles in this class was 125 per cent.

Following the revision, the new on-the-road (OTR) price without insurance for the LEXUS LS 460L (private registration) lists at RM777,448 from the initial RM842,433, giving LS 460L buyers a significant price reduction of RM64,985. Company car registration on-the-road (OTR) without insurance is now at RM796, 000 from RM861, 000, providing a price reduction of RM65, 000.

The LEXUS GS 300 does not qualify for the lower excise duty as it has an engine capacity of below 3000cc. With the reduction of road tax, the GS 300 is priced at RM402,985 (OTR) without insurance for private registration. Company car registration for OTR pricing without insurance is RM407, 040.

Both the flagship LS 460L and the sports sedan GS 300 are available for booking at the recently opened LEXUS Center Mutiara Damansara.
