Lexus in Malaysia today launched an additional variant, the LS 460 which uphold the exterior and interior styling, versatility, utility, comfort, performance, security, safety and quality of its flagship model, the LS 460 L.

This LS 460 is specially intended to cater to customers that want personal enjoyment and more involvement in self-driving experience with an added seating capacity. Compared to the LS 460L, which was designed for chauffeur driven usage, the LS460 will allow five individuals to travel in utmost comfort and luxury – a pleasure only found in the LS.

The new enhancements illustrate Lexus' core philosophy of "Pursuit of Perfection" in action, further adding refinement to the award-winning LS460 L.

At the exclusive preview event held at the Lexus Center in Mutiara Damansara, the Managing Director of UMW Toyota Motors Sdn. Bhd, Mr. Kuah Kock Heng said "since its inception, Lexus has been constantly striving to deliver the best to compete with the automotive industry's finest. In fact, at Lexus, our pursuit of perfection has spurred us to deliver more than just cars, but a lifestyle."

The LS 460 spots the same engine as the LS 460L, a V8 petrol engine with a 4.6-litre displacement producing 380 bhp/280 kW and 493 Nm of torque. This advanced V8 engine features the world's first electric-motor driven Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and electronically controlled intake cam (VVT-iE). The dual VVT-i combination of electrically controlled intake and hydraulically-controlled exhaust achieves superior engine-start-up operation and high-output performance.

The LS 460 has a similar design to the LS 460L and similarly uses the L-Finesse design principles to present an image of dignity and quality as well as mastered creativity. The design conveys the sense of leading edge engineering and sophisticated technology with unparalleled refinement and an extraordinary simplicity of function.

Inside, soft passenger touch points in the luxurious and spacious cabin create a relaxed atmosphere, with additional stitching on the high-quality leather for a rich look. Even the angles on the centre console were optimized to enhance comfort for the driver and front passenger. Tasteful wood grain and smooth leather finishing as well as refinements to the interior lighting create a rich ambience. Unlike the LS 460L, which has seating for two in the rear, the LS 460 can accommodate three persons very comfortably. The 40:20:40 seat has power adjustment and the two outer seats provide a feel and fit comparable to the front passenger's seat.

Mr Kuah added that with the additional variant of the flagship model, Lexus is confident that it will boost its foothold in Malaysia and take the brand to greater heights.

The Lexus LS 460 is available for viewing at the Lexus Center in Mutiara Damansara from 20 August 2008, and it's on the road price without insurance is RM 665,000.
